PS is a multi-purpose graphic design software with bitmap processing as the core. As a graphic designer, PS has comprehensive and complex functions. But in fact, we don't need to master all its functions. We only need to master the functions we will use in our actual work.


We summarize the usage scenarios of PS as follows:

1、 Late photography


In the later stage of photography, which is often called "map revision" and "P-map", the effect of the photos may not be ideal for various reasons. To make the photos present the desired effect, we need to adjust and modify them. There are three main types of post Photography: basic adjustment, portrait post and product refinement.

1. Foundation adjustment

For example, the image can be enlarged, reduced, rotated and tilted by image editing, the color of the image can be adjusted and corrected by color correction, and the image can be repaired and modified by repairing brush tools.



2. Portrait

PS is used to process portrait photos, including adjusting composition, color matching, facial features, skin whitening and artistic modification, so as to create a perfect portrait effect. According to different portrait photos, there are some differences in processing ideas and steps, and the photos can be selectively refined according to the needs.


3. Product refinement

Product refinishing is to process the photographic pictures of the product, mainly to repair the shape, color, material, light sense and layer sense of the product, so as to make the product look more high-end and atmosphere, stimulate customers' desire to buy, and improve the sales volume of the product.


2、 Visual synthesis

Image synthesis refers to the fusion of different image materials into a picture or a scene to create image content that originally does not exist, which is the core function of PS. Synthesis is mainly divided into creative synthesis and operational vision.

1. Creative synthesis

Creative synthesis refers to the design of creative synthetic images to attract the target audience. The creative works have a certain story and connotation, and convey its meaning through the creative pictures.


2. Operation vision

Operation visual design does not necessarily need creative content, as long as it can fit the subject and attract users' attention. Operation visual design is mainly used in banner, marketing poster, activity page, etc.



3、 Picture creation

The picture creation function of PS includes image drawing and vector drawing.
1. Image drawing

Image rendering is to draw the required object or scene in some special design needs through PS powerful custom brush and other tools.

2. Vector drawing

Vector drawing is the creation of graphics. It uses graphics tools to draw vector graphics such as logo, icon, etc. according to its own ideas.

4、 Typesetting layout

Typesetting is to put different elements in the canvas and reasonably set their levels and positions. PS can be used for material design, web design and app UI design.

1. Material design

The layout of material design mainly includes: poster, menu, flyer, display board or business card design.


2. Web Design

In order to pass on the products, services, ideas and culture of the enterprise to the visitors, we need to design the web page. The web page design mainly coordinates the combination of text and pictures to make the layout of the web page more reasonable and beautiful.

3. UI design

The PS function used in UI design only involves the basic function of typesetting and layout, not complex function.
